There’s so much to get excited about in China’s top tier and in the weeks and months ahead, there’s still a lot of foot
ball to be played. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Shandong Taishan and Zhejiang FC.
Shandong Form Guide
As a result of an absolutely insane end to the season, Shandong actually finished 2nd and pushed the champions all the way to the limit. That just proves what can happen if you go on a bit of a run in this league and although some would argue they aren’t as strong as they were just a few months ago, the early signs are that they have the consistency necessary to make some magic happen once again.
With a five-game unbeaten run behind them, Shandong have vaulted into 5th place in the league with seven wins, four draws and just two defeats to their name. They perhaps need to steady the ship at the back, but then again, that would somewhat go against their primary philosophy.
Zhejiang Form Guide
As was the case for a handful of other teams, Zhejiang enjoyed an amazing end to the campaign last year that left them in 3rd place in the table. That took them into the Champions League qualifiers and while they clearly have a lot on their plate, there’s something about the spirit of this team that leads us to believe they’re going to do some wonderful things this season.
Zhejiang have four wins in their last five games which has ensured they’ve made their way up to 6th place in the table. So far, they’ve been able to win seven games, drawn one and lose five, which perhaps shows that consistency is something that’ll be hard to come by for them.
Match Prediction
These two sides appear to have high expectations for the season ahead and we can’t say that we blame them. They’ve been able to start off like a house on fire and in a game like this, we predict more of the same, which is why we’re going to shoot for over 2.5 goals scored.
