Ham-Kam vs Brann Prediction (01.06.2024)

The Eliteserien weekend kicks off with one game on Saturday, before a full book of fixtures on Sunday. In the Saturday clash, we get to see second placed Brann in action as they travel away from home to face Ham-Kam, and they have a chance to claim top spot in the league, and put a little pressure on those around them.

Down in 11th with just two wins and 10 points on the board, it hasn't been the best of starts for Ham-Kam. But the positive is that those two wins have come in their last three games, and they've lost just one of their last five, things are getting better at the club.

But they arrive on the back of a defeat. They lost 3-0 away at Viking last weekend, to end a nice run. Before that, a shock win over current leaders Bodo/Glimt, and then a huge 7-1 thrashing of Sarpsborg, a side who are struggling, but that certainly made people take note of what Ham-Kam are doing.

12 games into the season and Brann have a respectable 24 points on the board, enough for second place with seven wins. Playing first, and tied with Bodo/Glimt, a win here would see Brann go clear at the top, and set them apart from the rest of the division for the first time.

They arrive into this game on the back of a win, and have won three of their last five overall, with one defeat and one draw alongside those. Their last win came on Thursday, a 2-1 home success over Kristiansund. Other recent wins have been against Sandefjord and Lillestrom, while Molde are the team to have given them a loss recently.

I think Ham-Kam are certainly proving themselves to be better now than they were at the start of the season, but I am not backing them for success here. I think Brann are a good side, and I will take the away team to win the three points here, and go to the top of the Eliteserien.
