Shenzhen Ruby FC vs Beijing Guoan Prediction (04.11.2023)

We’ve arrived at the final game of the Chinese Super League season as every single club in the top flight aims to finish on a high. While the title has already been decided, there are still a few things to iron out at both the top and the bottom of the table. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an entertaining clash between Shenzhen Ruby and Beijing Guoan.

Shenzhen’s relegation from the top flight has now been confirmed and after a dreadful season, it’s time for them to reflect on where it all went wrong. They’ve lost the majority of their games and have conceded an astounding 75 goals, and even if they do everything they can to rectify things in the off-season, there’s still going to be a long road back for them.

In their most recent outing, it must be said that Shenzhen certainly looked far more sound from a structural point of view. Unfortunately, it didn’t mean a whole lot in the grand scheme of things, as they fell to a 1-0 loss against Wuhan last weekend.

For a while, it seemed as if Beijing were going to make a sustained push for the title - but after falling away pretty dramatically, they can now only hope for 5th place at the very best. They’ve certainly had a few bright moments here and there and they are showing steady improvement, but there are plenty of lessons they’ll take away from this campaign.

Beijing’s frustrating inconsistency would’ve almost certainly left their fans tearing their hair out, especially after their game against Chengdu. In a five-goal thriller, they lost 3-2 to the 10-man side, serving as another big blow in a season full of them.

It’s fun to think that Shenzhen will really go for it here in what will be their final appearance in the top flight for a while. Beijing, meanwhile, don’t really have much to lose at this point, and will hopefully do the same - with the end result being over 2.5 goals scored.
