We’ve finally arrived at the final week of fixtures in this season’s English Premier League. There are still a handful of things left to be resolved between now and Sunday, and it’ll be fascinating to see who is left celebrating when the dust finally settles and we head into what is bound to be a busy summer. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the fascinating clash between Liverpool and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Liverpool Form GuideIt’s the final game for Jurgen Klopp as he prepares to ride off into the sunset. He’s had an incredible run as manager of Liverpool Football Club and while he won’t leave with another Premier League title to his name, you can bet the fans are going to give him one hell of a send off in what is bound to be a really emotional afternoon of action at Anfield.
Liverpool’s problems on the pitch, as well as their strengths, were on full display against Aston Villa - and the same can be said for the boys from the second city. The Reds were 3-1 up with just a few minutes remaining, only for a late surge to ensure that the game finished 3-3.
Wolves Form GuideWolverhampton Wanderers have ran out of steam this season and we don’t think that’s unfair to say. Gary O’Neil has done a magnificent job with this squad to steer them clear of the threat of relegation, but in the summer, the priority will be to build a team that’s capable of challenging for Europe again. It’ll be tough, but Wolves fans have higher expectations these days than in years gone by.
Wolves played host to Crystal Palace last weekend and while the boys from Molineux certainly had their moments, including a nice goal from Cunha, they simply couldn’t compete with the Eagles as Olise, Mateta and Eze all got on the scoresheet to keep their strong run of form going.
Match PredictionAnfield is going to be absolutely rocking as the club finally bids farewell to Klopp - but there’s always a chance Wolves could ruin their big day of celebration. Alas, we don’t think the odds are great, and our official prediction is still going to be a Liverpool victory.
