The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to begin the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Chelsea and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Chelsea Form GuideAfter the first couple of months of the season, fans and media members alike were of the belief that Mauricio Pochettino was the problem at Stamford Bridge. Regardless of whether or not you believe that, there are definitely steady improvements being made by the Blues. Of course, that doesn’t guarantee long-term success, but it’s definitely something for them to build on.
Chelsea still have a lot of work to do and if you don’t believe us, go back and watch their visit to Anfield on Wednesday night. They were beaten and battered in every department, eventually slumping their way to a comprehensive 4-1 defeat.
Wolves Form GuideWolverhampton Wanderers are looking really good right now and Gary O’Neil deserves a lot of plaudits for what he’s been able to do at the club. When he came in, they were seen as one of the favourites to go down - but at this point, their focus is on the top half as opposed to the bottom three. With a decent cup run to go alongside that, the kings of the Black Country are sitting pretty.
Wolves had no right to take their game with Manchester United all the way to the 97th minute - but that’s exactly what they did. They fought until the scoreline was locked at 3-3, and then, they had their hearts broken courtesy of a late winner, but there were plenty of positives to take away.
Match PredictionChelsea and Wolves are on a pretty similar level right now, we’d argue, and it’ll be interesting to see how the dynamic has shifted from their previous encounter. In terms of an official prediction, we’re going to play it safe and shoot for under 2.5 goals scored.
