The Premier League is back with a full slate of exciting midweek fixtures for fans to sink their teeth into over the course of the next few days. As we enter the month of April, it’s clear to see that we’re getting into the nitty-gritty of the campaign with teams at both ends of the table still having a lot left to fight for. Today, we’ll take a look at the upcoming clash between Burnley and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
Burnley Form GuideWe’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.
Burnley lost three straight to Arsenal, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth before just about holding on for a 2-2 draw with West Ham. They proceeded to beat Brentford 2-1, and then against Chelsea, they scratched and clawed their way to a valiant 2-2 draw.
Wolves Form GuideWolverhampton Wanderers are looking really good right now and Gary O’Neil deserves a lot of plaudits for what he’s been able to do at the club. When he came in, they were seen as one of the favourites to go down - but at this point, their focus is on the top half as opposed to the bottom three. Their cup dreams may be over, but there’s still something to fight for in the league.
Wolves beat Sheffield United and Brighton before a poor 3-0 loss away to Newcastle. They got back on track by beating Fulham, only to lose two straight to Midlands clubs Coventry and Aston Villa - in the cup and then in the league.
Match PredictionTurf Moor will hopefully be rocking for this one with Burnley knowing that this game serves as a huge opportunity for them to pick up some much needed points on the path to survival. In terms of how we think it’s going to play out, our official prediction is going to be over 2.5 goals scored.
