We’re in the endgame now. The Premier League season has entered the final stretch with just eight or fewer games remaining for the majority of clubs. There’s a lot on the line at both ends of the table, as we know, and we’re bound to see plenty of twists and turns in the weeks to come. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing clash between Wolverhampton Wanderers and West Ham United.
Wolves Form GuideWolverhampton Wanderers are looking really good right now and Gary O’Neil deserves a lot of plaudits for what he’s been able to do at the club. When he came in, they were seen as one of the favourites to go down - but at this point, their focus is on the top half as opposed to the bottom three. Their cup dreams may be over, but there’s still something to fight for in the league.
Since their 2-1 win over Fulham, Wolves haven’t quite been able to get back on track in the way they would’ve desired. They lost 3-2 to Coventry and 2-0 to Aston Villa and then, on the road against Burnley, they were only able to muster up a 1-1 draw.
West Ham Form GuideWest Ham United haven’t known days as good as this in a long time. They are the current holders of the Conference League title, they’re going well in the Europa League, and they are as solid as ever in the Premier League. David Moyes has figured out a formula that works, which should serve as a real warning for the rest of the clubs in the top flight this season.
Following their 5-0 domination of Freibury in the Europa League, West Ham drew 1-1 with Aston Villa. They went on to let a 3-1 lead slip in a shocking 4-3 loss to Newcastle, but at home to Tottenham, they were able to hold Ange’s men to a 1-1 draw.
Match PredictionWolves just seem to be a little bit all over the place right now with their squad looking pretty depleted. The Hammers, meanwhile, have a little bit more to fight for in our view, although Europe could yet prove to be the thorn in their side. Either way, we’re still going to predict a West Ham win.
