West Ham vs Leeds Prediction (21.05.2023)

West Ham and Leeds will collide this weekend as the Premier League season draws closer to its end.

West Ham United have been on a rollercoaster ride this season and that’s putting it lightly. In addition to (almost certainly) fending off the threat of relegation, they’ve also been mixing it up in Europe. Their Conference League adventure is going to take them all the way to Prague, as David Moyes prepares for what is arguably the biggest game of his career so far.

An astonishing 1-0 win at home to Manchester United got West Ham back on track and then just four days later, they beat AZ Alkmaar in the first leg of their Conference League semi-final. They did lose to Brentford three days after that, before beating AZ in the Netherlands to seal their place in the final.

Leeds United are now seen as one of the favourites to occupy a relegation spot by the end of the campaign - which makes sense, given that there are only two slots available and four teams left in the running to fill them. Sam Allardyce will do everything he can to get them over the finish line and against his former club, this is the kind of game in which they need to perform.

After earning a point at home to Leicester, Leeds were knocked back once again in defeats to Bournemouth and Manchester City. They did manage to earn a huge point against Newcastle but in the grand scheme of things, a draw here or there isn’t going to be enough.

Scamacca is the only confirmed injury absentee for the Hammers in this one with Coufal being available for selection once again.

Cooper and Roca are doubtful, Firpo is suspended and the following players are injured: Sinisterra, Dallas and Adams.

The big advantage for Leeds is that the hosts had a gruelling semi-final second leg to deal with during the week and may rest a few players. In equal measure, the boys from Yorkshire know how much is on the line here, which is why we think they won’t quite be able to stomach it - ending in a West Ham win.
