The Premier League is back in our lives once again following the last two-week international break of the year. Over the course of the next month and a half, football fans are preparing for a barrage of fixtures coming our way from English football’s top flight as the Christmas period awaits. Today, we’ll be taking a look at a fun clash between Burnley and West Ham United.
Burnley Form GuideFor the longest time now, it’s felt as if Burnley were just waiting to kick into a higher gear - but for whatever reason, Vincent Kompany’s boys have failed to live up to the hype. They’re playing good football and can tough it out against pretty much anyone but when it comes to actually getting positive results, they’ve left their fans feeling pretty worried heading into December.
As you’ve probably guessed from that anecdote, it’s been a real struggle for Burnley to get going as of late. Since the start of October, they’ve lost six straight games, with the following clubs getting the better of them: Chelsea, Brentford, Bournemouth, Everton, Crystal Palace and Arsenal.
West Ham Form GuideWest Ham United supporters haven’t known days as good as this for a long, long time. They have a European trophy in their cabinet, they’re looking decent in the league, and David Moyes is as confident as he’s ever been in his current role. The Hammers are flying at the moment, but at this level, it can be so easy to slip back down if you don’t keep your guard up.
After suffering defeats to Olympiakos and Everton, the Hammers bounced back with a nice 3-1 win over Arsenal in the League Cup. They did proceed to lose a five-goal thriller to Brentford, before rebounding with a rematch win over Olympiakos followed by a 3-2 win of their own over Nottingham Forest.
Match PredictionBurnley are in need of a big win and West Ham can’t help but be involved in absolute bangers lately. This has all the potential to be the game of the weekend and we think it’ll come close to that, with our official prediction for the claret & blue derby being over 2.5 goals scored.
