West Ham vs Burnley Prediction (10.03.2024)

The Premier League returns for another weekend full of stacked top flight action as we gear up for the final few months of the campaign. It’s pretty clear at this point what everyone is aiming for from top to bottom, but there are still plenty of twists and turns awaiting us on that journey. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between West Ham United and Burnley.

West Ham United haven’t known days as good as this in a long time. They are the current holders of the Conference League title, they’re going well in the Europa League, and they are as solid as ever in the Premier League. David Moyes has figured out a formula that works, which should serve as a real warning for the rest of the clubs in the top flight this season.

West Ham went on the road to face Everton last weekend and, for the most part, they appeared to be back to their former selves. They were sharp from beginning to end, picking up a 3-1 win to keep their European hopes alive and well.

We’re at the point now where it’s okay for Burnley fans to start panicking. The Clarets enjoyed a really strong run in the Championship but unfortunately for their loyal fanbase, they haven’t been able to make a smooth transition back into the top flight. Vincent Kompany will continue to fight, but it’s easy to understand why there’s so much uncertainty surrounding the club.

If there was ever a game that summed up Burnley’s misfortunes, it came last weekend. They were the better team for long spells against Bournemouth but unfortunately for them, they just couldn’t put their chances away, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat.

West Ham are quite clearly the better team out of the two in this one, but there’s an obvious desperation behind Burnley right now and their need to pick up points as quickly as possible. Alas, we don’t think we’re going to see a classic, which is why we’re backing under 2.5 goals scored.
