The Premier League is back once again this weekend as we get ready for the final set of February fixtures this season. English football’s top flight has been producing some incredible games all campaign long and as we look ahead to the next few months, we expect more of the same. Today, we’ll look at what should be an entertaining clash between West Ham United and Brentford.
West Ham Form GuideWest Ham United haven’t known days as good as this in a long time. They are the current holders of the Conference League title, they’re going well in the Europa League, and they are as solid as ever in the Premier League. David Moyes has figured out a formula that works, which should serve as a real warning for the rest of the clubs in the top flight this season.
Right now, West Ham can’t seem to buy a win - or a goal, for that matter. After being comprehensively beaten by Manchester United and Arsenal, the Hammers went on the road to battle Nottingham Forest, and they came away with a disappointing 2-0 loss.
Brentford Form GuideFor the first time since being promoted to the Premier League, it does feel as if there’s a bit of panic in the air at Brentford. As a club, they’re still being run very well, and they aren’t in any immediate danger when it comes to the relegation battle. At the same time, it only takes one bad run of form to lead you down the wrong path, and the Bees have shown some real weaknesses lately.
After beating Wolves, Brentford were humbled 4-1 at home by Liverpool - but on their trip to take on Manchester City this past Tuesday, we’d say they did themselves proud. It took a second half goal from Erling Haaland to condemn them to a 1-0 loss which, all things considered, isn’t the end of the world.
Match PredictionNeither of these teams are setting the world on fire right now and that, in itself, is a dramatic understatement. West Ham and Brentford are both in need of a big result, but instead, we think they’ll both settle for something a bit tamer - aka a tense and nervy draw.
