There are 10 Championship games on the Saturday schedule, with two mid table sides going head to head here, as Bristol City host Watford. I like what both these sides have done so far, but only in parts, there have been other times when they've not impressed, and both will know that consistency is the key for the second half of the season.
Bristol City Form Guide14th as we head into the weekend, Bristol City are only four points away from the playoffs, which you wouldn't think given the placing they have in the standings. They've won 10 out of 27 games so far, but they do come here on the back of a three game run in the league where they've not won, however, their most recent game was a cup win, and it came against Premier League opposition.
Bristol City won 1-0 at home to West Ham on Tuesday night, a replay following them drawing 1-1 away in the first game. But in the league, it's been a 2-0 defeat to Preston, 1-0 defeat to Millwall and 0-0 draw against Birmingham in their last three games. One big positive they'll hang onto is that their last league win was a big 4-1 success, and it came against the team they're playing here, Watford.
Watford Form GuideA little higher in the Championship table are Watford, they come into the weekend in 8th position, with 39 points and that makes them just one point away from the playoffs, although it's very tight, with many teams involved. They have gone three games unbeaten in the league, with a win most recently and two draws before that.
They also won in the cup during that period, a 2-1 success over National League team Chesterfield. Their league win last time was a 2-1 away win at relegation threatened QPR, while the draws were 3-3 away at Plymouth and 1-1 at home to Stoke.
Match PredictionI don't think there's much between these two teams overall, but in terms of recent form, Watford have been much better in the league. I'll take them in this game, on the double chance market as I think it'll be close, so I am covering a Watford win or the draw with my bet.
