On Sunday afternoon, Bochum and Werder Bremen go head-to-head at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion as both teams look to move clear of the Bundesliga relegation zone.
Bochum form guideThe home team have experienced an inconsistent campaign and currently lies in 13th place in the German top-flight table, six points clear of the league’s bottom three.
A 4-0 hammering at league leaders Bayer Leverkusen means they have won two and lost two of their last four matches in the German top flight.
Their recent Bundesliga outings have certainly not been short of goals, though, as there have been over 2.5 goals scored in the last four matches in the league.
One positive for Bochum of late has been their recent home form in the Bundesliga, as they are unbeaten in four home games in the German top flight, recording two straight home wins over Wolfsburg and Union Berlin.
They have also scored at least two goals in three of their last four league outings at the Vonovia Ruhrstadion.
Werder Bremen form guideThe visitors are only above their hosts courtesy of a superior goal difference, so they are just six points clear of the bottom three in the Bundesliga.
A creditable 1-1 home against RB Leipzig last time out means that Werder are unbeaten in their previous three Bundesliga games. However, they have also won just once in seven matches in the German top-flight.
Werder have been woeful travellers of late, failing to win any of their previous ten away games in the German top-flight, having picked up just two draws and suffered eight defeats.
The main reason for their poor recent away results has been a leaky defence, with at least two goals conceded in five of their last six games on their travels in the Bundesliga.
What am I backing?Bochum has recently improved on home soil, while Werder doesn’t travel well. The bet I am backing is a narrow home victory.
