In the early hours of Tuesday, the USA and Uruguay go head-to-head in their final Group C game of the Copa America.
USAThe host nation is in a potentially vulnerable position in Group C. They are currently in second place in the standings heading into this gameweek three clash. However, they are only ahead of third-place Panama courtesy of a superior goal difference.
With Panama facing what seems like a far easier game against pointless Bolivia in gameweek three, USMNT know they will likely need something from this game.
Unfortunately for Greg Berhalter’s team, their recent history in the competition doesn’t suggest that they will emerge victorious from this encounter. In their last four Copa America games, they have won just once and suffered three defeats.
However, the USA has lost just one of their seven international meetings with Uruguay, which was the 1993 Copa America.

Marcelo Bielsa’s team opened their campaign with a 3-1 win over Panama, followed by a 5-0 hammering of Bolivia in their last outing.
Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez and Toluca midfield star Maxi Araujo have both scored in Uruguay’s two games in the competition.
Not only have they been prolific in attack in recent games, but they have also conceded just once in their last four international outings.
Uruguay has been difficult to beat at the Copa America. They are unbeaten in their last six games in the competition after 90 minutes. Their record includes winning four of their last five games while also keeping four clean sheets.
What am I backing?The host nation has been inconsistent at the Copa so far. I believe Uruguay will have too much quality for them and record a relatively comfortable victory.
