The Premier League is back once again this weekend as we head into a month that could prove to be a defining one for many fans of teams in English football’s top flight - December. There are a whole lot of games to cover in the weeks ahead and today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City Form GuideWhile Manchester City may be recognised as one of the best teams in world football, that doesn’t mean they are immune to criticism or complacency. This season has proven that there are a few wrinkles that need to be ironed out by Pep Guardiola and with so much expectation on their shoulders as a club, it’ll be interesting to see how they cope with the pressure.
Following dominant wins over Manchester United, Bournemouth and Young Boys, City came crashing back down to earth as they were held to a 4-4 draw by Chelsea and a 1-1 draw by Liverpool. In the UCL, they hit back with a dramatic 3-2 win over RB Leipzig.
Tottenham Form GuideThe Big Ange effect has swept across North London with Spurs achieving one of their best ever starts to a league season under his tutelage. Alas, while that may be the case, recent weeks have served as a cold reminder that consistency is a pretty hard thing to maintain in the Premier League. Now, the challenge for the manager is to see how quickly he can steady the ship.
Following a hot start to the season and wins over Luton, Fulham and Crystal Palace in October, reality hit for Spurs. Between red cards and a plague of injuries, they’ve suffered some bad luck in three straight losses to Chelsea, Wolves and Aston Villa.
Match PredictionTottenham, unfortunately for them, appear to be heading in one direction between now and January. We’re sure they are going to put up a fight but we don’t think it’ll matter at a place like the Etihad, which is why we’re going to predict a Manchester City win.
