The Premier League is back in our lives once again following the last two-week international break of the year. Over the course of the next month and a half, football fans are preparing for a barrage of fixtures coming our way from English football’s top flight as the Christmas period awaits. Today, we’ll be taking a look at a fun clash between Tottenham Hotspur and Aston Villa.
Tottenham Form GuideThe Big Ange effect has swept across North London with Spurs achieving one of their best ever starts to a league season under his tutelage. Alas, while that may be the case, recent weeks have served as a cold reminder that consistency is a pretty hard thing to maintain in the Premier League. Now, the challenge for the manager is to see how quickly he can steady the ship.
Tottenham were on top of the world just a few weeks back after rattling off four straight wins over Liverpool, Luton, Fulham and Crystal Palace to go top of the league. Since then, however, they haven’t been quite as fortunate, dropping two dramatic defeats to Chelsea and Wolves.
Aston Villa Form GuideAston Villa are a club transformed under Unai Emery. They really do feel like a complete unit for the first time in a long time, and their reward is the return of European football to Villa Park. Given what they’ve been able to do in the summer transfer window, many are wondering just how far up the table they can go. Right now, it feels like the sky is the limit for the Midlanders.
Villa were able to beat West Ham and AZ Alkmaar, both by a 4-1 scoreline, before a nice 3-1 triumph over Luton - and it all happened in the space of a week. They did lose 2-0 to Nottingham Forest, but they rebounded with wins over AZ (again) and Fulham.
Match PredictionThere’s a lot of excitement in the air for this one and it’s not hard to see why, given how both Spurs and Villa have started the season. This is set to be an affair with some high quality football being played, which is always a huge bonus, ending in over 2.5 goals scored.
