Switzerland vs Kosovo Prediction (18.11.2023)

We’re back with the final international break of 2023 as we continue down the road to UEFA Euro 2024. It’s safe to say that things are really starting to heat up in pretty much every group as nations qualify and make their push to reach the playoffs. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing battle between Switzerland and Kosovo.

For so many years now, Switzerland have been seen as dark horses in a lot of the international competitions they qualify for. In the end, though, they ultimately just make up the numbers, either falling away in the group stage or failing to do much of significance in the knockouts. Still, there’s a belief within the core of their squad, and that’s all you can really ask for at this point.

The Swiss were stunned last month as Belarus held them to a stunning 3-3 draw to really halt their progress in the group. Then, on the road against Israel, they were only able to muster up a 1-1 draw.

Kosovo, just a few short years ago, weren’t making any kind of waves whatsoever on the world stage - because they simply weren’t a part of the dance. In recent times, though, they’ve enjoyed more consistent success, to the point whereby it’s not impossible to see them qualifying for the Euros. There’s still a lot of hard work to be done, but they need to take advantage of their ‘newcomer’ momentum.

The month of October saw Kosovo play just once, but they made the most of their opportunity as they beat Andorra 3-0. From there, they played host to Israel a few days ago, and they kept their nerve to register an important 1-0 win.

When you’ve got two hungry, determined teams battling it out in qualifying, there’s every chance you’re going to get fireworks. In this instance, it feels like a foregone conclusion, which is why we’re going to back Switzerland and Kosovo to score over 2.5 goals between them.
