Euro 2024 kicks off on Friday night, but for Denmark and Slovenia, they have to wait until Sunday for their first game. Both sides will see this as a big opportunity to get their tournament started, but in terms of group expectations, Denmark are the ones that are expected to qualify.

The opening games can always be funny, with some teams doing all they can to avoid defeat, and not put themselves in a bad spot in the group. They'll be looking to take advantage of any complacency or rust shown by Denmark.
Slovenia have played two warm up games, winning the first at home to Armenia 2-1 before a 1-1 draw with Hungary in their last. But look further back, this is a team that have beaten Portugal and the USA in 2024, so on their day, they are more than capable of causing a shock here.
Denmark Form GuideI think Denmark are one of the teams who come into this competition with expectations that are slightly higher than how good they are. I don't think they're the clear second best in this group, but many believe that finishing second behind England is something that will certainly happen, I don't.
The positive for them is they come here on the back of two wins, a 3-1 home win over Norway and a 2-1 home win over Sweden, but both of those sides have not qualified for this tournament. Slovenia held Denmark to a draw when they were at home, and Denmark won narrowly at home in the return game, they've got form at home, but this is a neutral venue, which further tempers my enthusiasm on Denmark.
Match PredictionI think Denmark are rightfully favourites here, but at the same time, they're not value at all. For a value pick, I will take Slovenia to nick something in the opener, so I will back Slovenia on the double chance market to win or draw this game.
