Scotland made a poor start to Euro 2024, blown away by Germany on opening night, and they've got a big game here, to try and put things right for their fans. Switzerland are their opponents, a side who won their first game, though it wasn't a complete performance, and they too have plenty of work to get done.
Scotland Form GuideScotland were dreadful on the opening night, I thought they may be able to take advantage of German nerves, but instead, it was the opposite, Scotland completely froze on the night, and lost 5-1. Their goal was an own goal, they didn't actually have a shot on target themselves, to make matters worse.
But we know this Scotland team is a lot better. They can play, and have a lot of work to do to restore some pride for their fans, which will be the main aim of Wednesday evening's game. A loss wouldn't completely drop them out, but would make qualification very tough, especially when you consider their goal difference.
Switzerland Form GuideIf you watch the first half of Switzerland's 2-1 win over Hungary then you would have been impressed. Watch the second half, and it was the opposite. They won, got three big points on the board, but next, they have to show they can perform for a full 90 minutes.
They invited pressure in the second half though, and almost paid for it. They conceded one, Hungary looked the better side, and had chances to score again, it was a fairly lucky escape for Switzerland, to leave the game with three points. It's going to be interesting to see how they set up here.
Match PredictionI am going to give Scotland one more chance to go out and get something from a game at Euro 2024, so I am backing them on the double chance market, which covers them to win the game or it to end in a draw. They are much better than we saw on Friday, have to open up and attack to try and win this, and I think they can get something against a Switzerland side who left their game on Saturday with three points, but also with plenty of questions to answer.
