PSV Eindhoven vs Vitesse Prediction (13.04.2024)

On Saturday evening, PSV Eindhoven will look to take a step closer to winning the Eredivisie title when they host hapless Vitesse Arnhem.

Peter Bosz’s team has developed a healthy lead of nine points on second-place reigning champions PSV with just five rounds of the Eredivisie left to play this season.

PSV have been formidable at the Phillips Stadion in recent months, as they are unbeaten in their last 24 Eredivisie games on home soil, having recorded 21 wins and three draws.

They have also been highly potent in front of goal of late on home soil, scoring at least two goals in 21 of their last 22 league games in front of their own fans.

The visitors have endured a nightmare campaign in the Eredivisie. They currently sit 18th in the Dutch top-flight table, five points adrift of the relegation play-off spot, and seven points away from the safety mark of 15th place.

A six-game winless run in the Eredivisie, including five defeats, is making Vitesse’s survival hopes look slimmer by the week.

Their main issue has been conceding too many goals. They have conceded at least two goals in five of their last six matches in the Eredivisie.

Vitesse’s recent woeful away record hasn’t helped their survival chances either. They have lost nine of their previous ten matches on their travels in the Eredivisie while conceding at least two goals in eight of the defeats.

The obvious bet is the home win, but it offers very little value. Instead, the bet I am backing is over 2.5 goals scored, as PSV’s potent attack will likely punish Vitesse’s leaky backline in this encounter.
