Wales vs Poland Prediction (26.03.2024)

We’re into the final furlong as we get ready for the last push towards UEFA Euro 2024. This week, there are three playoff final games that will determine the final entrants into the tournament. These nations have come so far and now, they are within touching distance of what they’ve fought so hard to claim. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the clash between Wales and Poland.

The Dragons are beginning to find their feet on the international stage as they have now qualified for three of the last four major tournaments. Their World Cup adventure didn’t quite go to plan but in equal measure, they’ve looked pretty good at the European level. Their Euro 2016 exploits will always be fondly remembered but now, it’s all about showing growth in a post-Gareth Bale landscape.

The Welsh went head to head with Finland in their semi-final last week and many thought it would prove to be a tricky test for them. Ultimately, though, it wasn’t, and they instead ran out 4-1 winners in what served as a real coming of age moment for the team.

For years now, it’s felt as if the Poland national team has been going through a golden generation and a half - or, at least, that’s what we’ve been told. Despite that, they’ve never really been able to live up to their potential on the world stage. The Poles are one of the most interesting countries to watch when firing on all cylinders, but inconsistency is a big issue for them.

The Poles took on Estonia last week in their semi-final in what was always expected to be a pretty one-sided affair. The favourites lived up to their end of the bargain, hitting five past their opponents in a comprehensive 5-1 triumph.

One thing we know for sure about this game is that it’s going to be really, really tense. Both nations are more than good enough to qualify but the Welsh will be slight favourites, more than likely, due to them being at home. In terms of a prediction, though, we’re going to shoot for under 2.5 goals scored.
