Burnley vs Nottingham Forest Prediction (19.05.2024)

We’ve finally arrived at the final week of fixtures in this season’s English Premier League. There are still a handful of things left to be resolved between now and Sunday, and it’ll be fascinating to see who is left celebrating when the dust finally settles and we head into what is bound to be a busy summer. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the fascinating clash between Burnley and Nottingham Forest.

Burnley Football Club will be back in the Championship next season and while that’s incredibly disappointing for their loyal fanbase, it’s a league they know pretty well at this point. There’s no guarantee of an immediate promotion back to the big time but if Vincent Kompany decides to stay and make it work, there’s every chance they’ll be able to figure out what went wrong and improve.

A Burnley victory could vault them up into 18th place and while that wouldn’t be much of a consolation prize, it would at least improve their points tally which currently stands at a poor 24. With just one win in their last five, though, they’ll have to really pull out all the stops.

Nottingham Forest, barring a miracle, will be remaining in the Premier League for next season. Nuno Espirito Santo has done a pretty solid job since returning to English football and while there have been plenty of things to worry fans off the pitch, they’ve done all they can in terms of their performances - and in this game, they’ll want to make sure they leave no doubt.

For Forest, it’s simple: they will finish in 17th place unless there is an insane 12-goal turnaround between themselves and Luton Town. They have 29 points so it’ll be nice for them to get up to 30 at a minimum, but really, they just need to stay calm and relax into the game.

We think this will be a pretty entertaining game with the Turf Moor faithful attempting to see their team off in style. Forest will bring their usual energy which should make for an exciting back and forth collision, but in terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for a Burnley victory.
