New England Revolution vs New York Red Bulls Prediction (08.06.2024)

With the majority of top leagues across Europe coming to an end, it’s time for Major League Soccer to step up. There are plenty of reasons why this campaign has the potential to be incredibly exciting but beyond that, it’s just been nice to see the continued growth and development of the game in North America. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between New England Revolution and New York Red Bulls.

At one point, it seemed as if New England Revolution would be one of the highest ranked teams in the Eastern Conference - and perhaps the entire league. Unfortunately for them, they somewhat ran out of steam down the stretch, eventually finishing 5th. In the first round of the playoffs, they were quickly dispatched in consecutive games by Philadelphia, and now, they appear to be in trouble.

What do New England have to do in order to get out of their current situation? That’s the million dollar question. They currently linger down in 15th place aka bottom in the Eastern Conference, they have just three wins from 14 games, a goal difference of -16 and just 10 points to their name.

For so long now, New York Red Bulls have been one of the most notable franchises in the MLS - but they’ve never really been able to take that next step. They struggle more than most to live up to the hype surrounding them, but they’ll hope to turn the tide in the weeks and months that lie ahead. In terms of belief, we think their fans have it in abundance, which is a good start.

The Red Bulls, at this moment in time, are looking like contenders. They’ve lost just three of their first 16 games and they’re currently situated in 4th place in the Eastern Conference. If they keep this up, they could be seen as real dark horses in the post-season.

We’re at the point in the MLS season now where it’s time to start really making some noise, and it feels like these two sides are aware of that. They both have attacking threats and in this game, we expect to see them showcase that. Therefore, we’re going to shoot for over 2.5 goals scored.
