The Major League Soccer season is beginning to get into a real rhythm as all clubs involved find their feet and start to build some momentum. There are plenty of reasons to believe this could be the best MLS campaign yet, with teams across North America getting better and better. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fascinating encounter between Inter Miami and New York City FC.

After beating Salt Lake 2-0, Miami went on the road to face LA Galaxy and came away with a 1-1 draw. They went on to batter Orlando 5-0 in a dominant display, but inconsistency quickly became the norm as they lost 3-2 to Montreal, beat DC 3-1 and lost 4-0 to NY Red Bulls.
New York Form GuideAfter years of trying, New York City finally climbed to the top of the mountain back in 2021 and won the MLS Cup. In the present day, though, they seem to have taken their foot off the gas ever so slightly. At this point, their aim is to get back to a point of prominence at the elite level - but we still believe it’s going to take a bit of time for them to get there, and there’s nothing wrong with that.
NYCFC lost their opening three games of the season to Charlotte, St Louis and Portland, but they did manage to finally get in the win column with a 2-1 win at home to Toronto. Then, away to Cincinnati, they weren’t quite as fortunate as they fell to a 1-0 defeat.
Match PredictionThis is a clash between two cities that, within their franchises, will believe they’ve got a great deal of potential. They both have impact players who can make a real difference but we expect one to thrive more so than the other here, which is why we’re predicting a Miami victory.
