There are some great teams who are ready to lay it all on the line in the name of greatness, and we can’t wait to see it. For years now, it’s felt as if the Poland national team has been going through a golden generation and a half - or, at least, that’s what we’ve been told. Despite that, they’ve never really been able to live up to their potential on the world stage. The Poles are one of the most interesting countries to watch when firing on all cylinders, but inconsistency is a big issue for them.

Poland finished in 3rd place in their qualifying group and, all things considered, they’ll be pretty disappointed with that. They were four points behind Albania and Czech Republic who qualified automatically, but in the play-offs, they made the most of their opportunity by beating Estonia 5-1 in the semis before defeating Wales on penalties in the final.

The Dutch have forever been known as the bridesmaids of world football but on the European stage, they tend to be a little bit more consistent. The primary hope, moving forward, is that all of their changes behind the scenes won’t impact what they’re trying to accomplish on the pitch. After all, you could make a good argument that this is actually their best squad in years.

Things didn’t go all Netherlands’ way in Group B of qualifying, as they finished in 2nd place behind France - who were four points ahead of them. They did, however, manage to finish five points ahead of Greece in 3rd, meaning they wound up qualifying without too much trouble.

The Poles are pretty lucky to be here and in our view, we don’t think they’ll make too much noise throughout the course of the tournament. The Dutch, on the other hand, have a really interesting squad, and we think they’ll do well - which is why we’re going to back a Netherlands win.
