Monza - Juventus Tip 01-12-2023

Serie A is back this weekend, and we've got one game from the Italian top tier on Friday night. In that game, currently second in the table, Juventus, have a chance to go to the top with a win. They travel away from home, to take on mid table Monza, who come here on an unbeaten run in the league.

I like what Monza have been doing so far this season, they look a competent, and very difficult to beat side at the moment. That's led them to 9th in the league, mid table. While they've only won four of 13 games so far, they have six draws also, which have been a big contribution to their points total.

They come here on a four game unbeaten run, where they have drawn three and won one of those games. All three draws have been by a score of 1-1, coming against Udinese, Torino and Cagliari. The win was a good away success, where they beat Verona 3-1, though it has to be said, all four games have been against teams below them, with three being against sides who are in the relegation fight at the bottom.

While many expected Juventus to go well and be near the top, so far, it has been a small overachievement in my opinion. Second in the table, they have nine wins from 14 games, 30 points on the board and that puts them two points behind the league leaders Inter Milan, a side they played at the weekend in what was a huge top of the table clash.

That game ended in a 1-1 tie, and while Juventus would have loved the chance to go top, they will take a point from the game. This Friday, playing before Inter, gives them the chance to go top, even if it's just for a small period. Before that draw, Juve won five in a row, and four of those came with clean sheets attached, to make that run even more impressive.

While I respect Monza, what they have been doing recently has been against lower sides, this is a completely different test. With that in mind, I am going to take Juventus to win the game here, I think they'll have enough quality to get the job done, and move to the top of the table.
