The final game on Sunday in Serie A is an evening kick off, with Monza the home side and they host Atalanta. Both teams are not at their best right now, but Monza are aiming for the top half of the table and Atalanta are trying to get themselves back in the top six.
Monza Form GuideMonza begin the weekend in 11th position, but that could be all change by the time they play. Their aim from here, with six games to go, is to get into the top half of the table, and they have a chance. But they do come here on the back of three games without a win, which they need to end if they way success.
Last weekend, they drew 0-0 away from home against Bologna, a side chasing the top four, so that was a decent point. But before that, two losses, with a 4-2 home defeat against Napoli and a 1-0 away defeat against Torino. Monza last won in the middle of March, a narrow 1-0 success at home to Cagliari.
Atalanta Form GuideAtalanta lost on Thursday night in the Europa League, but won the tie on aggregate, beating Liverpool 3-1 to make it through to the semi finals of the competition. They have a genuine chance of winning it, and that would present them with a chance to play in next season's Champions League. They are struggling a little in Serie A though, which has seen them slip down the table.
They have just one win from their last seven league games, a 3-0 away success over Napoli. But elsewhere, it has been really poor from them. One time challlengers for the top four, they may now miss out on the top six.
Match PredictionAt their best Atalanta are the better team here, but we've not seen that for some time now domestically. On the back of a big European win, I think they're vulnerable here, and the bet for me looks to be Monza to avoid defeat. I will back Monza on the double chance market, covering them to win the game or it to end in a draw.
