Millwall vs Leicester Prediction (09.04.2024)

Millwall are desperate for points at the bottom of the table, and Leicester are desperate for points at the top of the table. They go head to head on Tuesday night, looking to land three big points for their causes. The New Den is the venue, and this is one of the more interesting games on what looks sure to be a big night of action in the Championship.

When Neil Harris returned to Millwall, he led them to a handful of victories, and seemed set on leading them to safety. But it's all change, four games without a win, just one point in that period, they're back close to where they began. Five games to go, they are two points ahead of the relegation zone, it's all to play for.

They come here on the back of a massive loss, in the last minute of the game, away against Huddersfield, who are also in the relegation battle with them. Before that, a 2-1 loss to Rotherham, the team who are bottom and already relegated, so it's not been a great run recently for them.

On top for a large part of the season, Leicester have been doubted recently, but they've responded in the best possible way in their last two games. With 88 points, they are one above Ipswich and two above Leeds, but crucially, Leicester also have a game in hand on those below them, so that gap could be a lot bigger.

And in their last two games, it's been more like the Leicester we are used to. At the weekend, they won 2-1 at home to Birmingham, before that, they won 3-1 at home to Norwich, a side who are going great guns at the moment. We could be witnessing Leicester bounce back at the exact moment they need to.

Both sides need the points, but there is no doubt Leicester are the team with a quality advantage. They are the ones I'm siding with here, Millwall are in a bit of a slump, so I'll take Leicester to go home with the three points.
