The Premier League is back in our lives once again following the last two-week international break of the year. Over the course of the next month and a half, football fans are preparing for a barrage of fixtures coming our way from English football’s top flight as the Christmas period awaits. Today, we’ll be taking a look at a fun clash between Everton and Manchester United.
Everton Form GuideEverton have been handed a ten-point deduction and while some fans may feel like that isn’t particularly fair, there’s no time for complaints or excuses. The Toffees know that they’ll have to work incredibly hard if they’re going to fend off the threat of relegation and although their recent performances on the pitch have been promising, there’s still a long way to go this season.
Despite losing 2-0 to rivals Liverpool, Everton didn’t let their spirit drop as they proceeded to defeat West Ham and Burnley in the space of just a few days. They went on to draw 1-1 with Brighton at home before a dramatic 3-2 win over Crystal Palace before the break.
Manchester United Form GuideManchester United supporters probably felt as if their League Cup win last season was a sign that times were changing for the better - but it seems as if there are more than a few hurdles they still have to overcome. The fans aren’t happy with the owners, there are numerous scandals off the pitch, and Erik ten Hag has more pressure on his shoulders than ever before.
Ever since their win over Copenhagen, things have been pretty bleak for United. Yes, they’ve been able to edge past Fulham and Luton in narrow 1-0 wins, but they’ve also been beaten 3-0 by Manchester City, 3-0 by Newcastle and 4-3 by Copenhagen in a UCL rematch.
Match PredictionEverton supporters will feel like the world is against them and if there’s ever going to be a fixture for them to really ‘stick it to the man’, it’s this one. Alas, the visitors just have this ability to grind out results they perhaps don’t deserve, which is why we’re favouring a Manchester United win.
