Old rivals will meet once again at the Emirates as Arsenal and Manchester United collide in the Premier League.

Arsenal fans can be forgiven for feeling like they’re in a dream right now. They are top of the table and under the guidance of Mikel Arteta, they don’t appear to be slowing down. Of course, now is when the pressure really ramps up as they prepare for a competitive second half of the campaign.

While they may have been held to a 0-0 draw by Newcastle to start the year, the Gunners proceeded to make quick work of Oxford United in a comprehensive 3-0 success. Then, in the North London derby, they beat Tottenham from pillar to post in an important 2-0 win.

This season has served up mixed results for Manchester United but at this moment in time, the only way is up. They are well and truly firing on all cylinders and if they continue on with that trajectory, there’s an excellent chance they could start to invade the title race in the weeks ahead.

Victory is the name of the game for Manchester United right now. They beat Bournemouth 3-0, Everton 3-1, Charlton 3-0 and, perhaps most crucially, Manchester City 2-1 in what could be a huge turning point. Then came Crystal Palace who, stubborn as ever, held United to a 1-1 draw.

Mohamed Elneny will face an assessment to determine his fitness whereas Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Jesus have already been ruled out for the hosts.

Casemiro is suspended with Axel Tuanzebe and Donny van de Beek still on the injured reserve list. Meanwhile, Diogo Dalot and Anthony Martial are doubtful with Jadon Sancho finally returning to training this week.

It’s easy to see this meeting going one of a million different ways. In our view, though, the most likely is a 1-1 draw that keeps us all on the edge of our seats until full time.
