The Premier League is back once again this weekend as we get ready for the final set of February fixtures this season. English football’s top flight has been producing some incredible games all campaign long and as we look ahead to the next few months, we expect more of the same. Today, we’ll look at what should be an entertaining clash between Bournemouth and Manchester City.
Bournemouth Form GuideIn the space of just a few months, Bournemouth have gone from one of the favourites for relegation to a team that looks pretty comfortable. They are midtable in the Premier League right now and although they aren’t out of the woods when it comes to avoiding the drop, the Cherries should certainly be feeling good about their prospects.
While it’s not unfair to suggest that Bournemouth have cooled off a bit in the last couple of weeks, it also must be said that they looked back to their best against Newcastle. They went to Tyneside and showed no fear, eventually managing to come away with a 2-2 draw.
Manchester City Form GuideManchester City are once again considered to be the clear favourites to win the Premier League title, and it’s not hard to see why. Pep Guardiola has built an absolute juggernaut of a squad and as we look ahead to the future, you’d have to imagine that the only big question mark is surrounding the punishment they could receive for their financial charges off the pitch.
On Tuesday, Manchester City were made to sweat in their home clash with Brentford. The Bees defended really well throughout the course of the game and in the end, it took a late second half strike from Erling Haaland to ensure they didn’t lose more ground in the title race.
Match PredictionIt certainly feels like Bournemouth are capable of causing City problems but in terms of how the game will look when the full time whistle has blown, it just seems like there’s far too much quality and experience in the visitors’ ranks to go against them. Therefore, we’re going to predict a Manchester City win.
