We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between West Ham United and Liverpool.
West Ham Form GuideWest Ham United haven’t known days as good as this in a long time. They are the current holders of the Conference League title, they’re going well in the Europa League, and they are as solid as ever in the Premier League. David Moyes has figured out a formula that works, which should serve as a real warning for the rest of the clubs in the top flight this season.
Since beating Wolves 2-1 at Molineux, West Ham have really struggled to get things going for themselves. They lost to Leverkusen before drawing with them in the second leg of their Europa League tie, they lost 2-0 to Fulham, and they were then beaten 5-2 by Crystal Palace.
Liverpool Form GuideLiverpool fans now know that their title destiny is out of their own hands. Of course, everyone wants to send Jurgen Klopp off in the most magical way imaginable, but they’ll have to rely on help from elsewhere if they want to do that. They have the quality necessary to win the remainder of their games but psychologically, they’ve certainly taken a blow or two as of late.
Liverpool’s 1-0 loss to Crystal Palace, followed by their exit from the Europa League at the hands of Atalanta, was a real turning point for them. They just about managed to overcome Fulham 3-1 but against Everton in the Merseyside derby, they fell to a shock 2-0 defeat.
Match PredictionWest Ham and Liverpool are both fun sides to watch but in recent weeks, it feels as if any hope for a positive end to the season has slowly slipped away for them. We do think this is going to be a competitive encounter, but in terms of the result, we struggle to see anything other than a draw.
