The Premier League is back once again this weekend as we head into a month that could prove to be a defining one for many fans of teams in English football’s top flight - December. There are a whole lot of games to cover in the weeks ahead and today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun encounter between Liverpool and Fulham.
Liverpool Form GuideLiverpool are a strange club to watch right now because while they have the squad and infrastructure necessary to win some major trophies, there’s always a slip-up or complication waiting around the next corner. As we get ready for an incredibly busy period, Jurgen Klopp will be praying that the injury bug doesn’t come back to bite them once again.
The Reds picked up nice wins over Nottingham Forest and Bournemouth before two pretty surprising results as they drew 1-1 with Luton and lost to Toulouse. They did, however, manage to battle back, beating Brentford 3-0 before earning a 1-1 draw away at Manchester City.
Fulham Form GuideFulham Football Club no longer wants to be identified as a yo-yo team and after managing to stay up last season, they’re doing well to get rid of that title. Of course, we all know about the stress of second season syndrome, and the Cottagers will want to avoid a relegation scrap by any means necessary. For now, they aren’t in too much peril, but it’s a fine line at this level.
Fulham lost 2-0 to Tottenham last month before a valiant 1-1 draw away at Brighton. From there, they beat Ipswich 3-1, but lost to Manchester United and Aston Villa soon after. It didn’t take long for them to recover once again, though, as they earned a controversial 3-2 win over Wolves.
Match PredictionThere are some games you look at and just know what the result is going to be and straight off the bat, we’re going to predict a Liverpool win. It takes something special to get a result at Anfield and in terms of fire power, we just don’t think Fulham are up to the task.
