Wolves vs Leeds Prediction (18.03.2023)

Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leeds United, two juggernauts of the English game, will meet in the Premier League this weekend.

Following the introduction of Julen Lopetegui as the club’s new manager, Wolves fans have been feeling a little bit easier about their survival prospects. It’s worth noting that there’s still a decent chance they could slip through the trap door, given the unpredictable nature of the Premier League, but that would easily make them one of the best teams ‘on paper’ to ever go down.

Inconsistency has been the name of the game for this Wolves side lately. After beating Southampton and drawing against Fulham, they fell to poor defeats against Bournemouth and Liverpool. They did beat Tottenham 1-0, before a somewhat harsh 2-1 defeat away at Newcastle.

Leeds United have worked so hard to stay in the top flight ever since making their way back up, and every single minute of their return has been a struggle. That’ll continue to be the case for the boys from Yorkshire until the season comes to an end, but at the very least, their supporters can rest easy knowing that they’re beginning to look like their old selves on the pitch.

Putting the ball in the net continues to be Leeds’ big problem. Their 2-2 draw against Brighton brought an end to a run of one goal in five games, during which time they beat Southampton and lost to Chelsea, Fulham, Everton and Manchester United.

B.Traore and Sarabia are both battling to be fit in time for this one with the following players being out through injury: Chiquinho, Kalajdzic, Bueno and Costa.

Adams, Dallas, Cooper and Forshaw continue to be the four main injury absentees for Leeds.

This is a really tricky one as Leeds have enjoyed success at Molineux in their recent history, but in an encounter of this magnitude, we do think it’s going to come down to quality. The hosts just seem to have a bit more of that in their locker which is why we’re backing Wolves to win.
