Leeds vs Crystal Palace Prediction (09.04.2023)

Another relegation six-pointer awaits in the Premier League as Leeds United prepare to take on Crystal Palace this weekend.

Leeds United like to give it their all whenever they step out onto the pitch, and we sincerely hope they keep that energy between now and the end of the season. The boys from Yorkshire have done a solid job of pushing themselves further away from the drop zone in recent weeks, but it’s hard to think you’re out of it when there’s so little separating the teams that are down there.

Following defeats to Fulham and Chelsea, Leeds bounced back with a draw against Brighton and a nice win over Wolves. They did lose 4-1 to Arsenal, but they earned a huge three points by coming from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest earlier in the week.

Bringing in Roy Hodgson for the last few months of the season, in favour of Patrick Vieira, was an unbelievably bold move from the Crystal Palace board. With that being said, the Eagles did need some stability, and Hodgson has the experience necessary to try and get them out of this relegation scrap - even if the fans are furious that this is the direction they’ve gone in.

The Don Roy effect was clear for all to see last weekend as they edged past Leicester in a massive 2-1 victory. Prior to that, though, things weren’t quite so easy going, as they lost four straight to Aston Villa, Manchester City, Brighton and Arsenal.

Dallas, Adams, Wober and Forshaw are the four players confirmed to be injured for Leeds heading into this one.

Zaha is out of action through injury whereas Richards and Ferguson are fighting to find full fitness.

In a relegation scrap like this one, it can be pretty common to see teams throw caution to the wind in every way imaginable - and that’s what we’re anticipating in this clash. Leeds are strong going forward and Palace can attack when they want to, which should lead us down the path of over 2.5 goals scored.
