Sunday feels like a big day in the relegation battle in Serie A, the first game of the day is a big one, and this is the second, also one that's going to have a big impact on the bottom part of the table. Frosinone are the hosts, welcoming Lecce and these two are 16th and 14th in the standings, but crucially, three points and four points above the drop zone, so one bad weekend could put them in huge trouble.
Frosinone Form GuideAfter a really bright start to life in Serie A, it's been downhill for Frosinone, they keep dropping, and are now in 16th place, just three points above the relegation zone. Seven teams are separated by five points, two will go down, five will survive, and Frosinone are right in the middle of that battle at the moment.
They come here on the back of four straight defeats in a row, a run that has given them a lot to think about. They lost 3-2 at Juventus last weekend, before that, they lost to Roma, Fiorentina and AC Milan, so what I will say about them is that they've had a tough run of fixtures, this is the easiest game they've had in a while.
Lecce Form GuideThe picture for Lecce is ever so slightly more positive, but only by two places in the standings, and one point. 14th sounds decent for a position at this stage, but they are right in the mix for relegation here. Just like Frosinone, they also come into this game on the back of what has been a poor run.
They have lost their last three, with the most recent being a 4-0 home loss against the league leaders Inter Milan. Before that, they lost 2-0 at Torino and 4-0 at Bologna, so they've not scored since the start of February. But I'll add the same here as I did for Frosinone, this is the easiest game they've had in a while.
Match PredictionA huge game at the bottom, and just like the first relegation battle of the day, I think this one goes exactly the same way. We'll see two teams focusing on not losing, neither good enough to break the other down, and for that reason, I am backing the draw here.
