KR Reykjavik vs Keflavik Prediction (28.06.2023)

Three games take place from the Urvalsdeild on Wednesday evening and one of the two later kicks offs is this clash which sees Reykjavik host bottom of the table Keflavik

The table shows that Reykjavik are in seventh position coming into this game, but their recent form has been well above that level. After a poor start to the new season, they've improved a lot, and are looking to keep that going. Their first six games saw one win, one draw and four defeats, but their last six have resulted in three wins, two draws and just one defeat.

In their last game, at home to Akureyri, Reykjavik ran out 2-0 winners, while they have also beaten Stjarnan and Fram in recent weeks too. It's been much better, the kind of form we were expecting from the team this season, and what we also expect to see moving forward, not the early part, which was very poor.

Keflavik are stuck at the bottom of the Urvalsdeild standings, they have played 12 games and have just one win on the board. Recently, they've made themselves tougher to beat, and have drawn four out of their last five games, with the other resulting in a loss, but there have been no wins, this is still a team that lacks quality to compete with the better sides in this league.

In their last game, it was a draw against Fylkir, a team not too far above them in the standings, and a game that ended 1-1. Before that, they drew with another team in the bottom half, Stjarnan, and that was also a game they drew 1-1. These draws are helping, but wins are needed, having just one on the board at this stage is not good enough.

Reykjavik appear to be moving in the right direction and I am backing them to continue that and win this game. While Keflavik have tightened up, and are making themselves harder to beat, this is not a game I fancy them to do that in, so it's a Reykjavik win for me.
