Are Juventus out of the title race? Recent form has put them on the brink, and due to recent results in Serie A, this game has way more importance attached than it did a couple of weeks ago. Looking to keep their title hopes alive, Juventus travel away from home on Saturday, in the middle game of three taking place, where they face relegation threatened Verona.
Verona Form GuideVerona head into the weekend in the bottom three, although it's very tight and even just a point this weekend could be enough to pull them out of danger. They are in 18th, so the closest to safety of the three in the relegation zone, and have 19 points, with Lecce as high at 13th, only five ahead of them, showing how tight things are down at the bottom.
But Verona come here without a win from their last four games, a period that's seen them take two points with two draws and two defeats. Their most recent game was a draw, they went away to mid table Monza and brought back a point with them, though this is a much tougher test.
Juventus Form GuideGo back three weeks when Inter Milan were in the Italian Super Cup and Juventus won a game to go top of Serie A. It feels a long time ago, and fast forward to now, Juventus are seven points behind Inter Milan, and their rivals have a game in hand on them, so that could stretch the lead to 10.
A draw at home to Empoli was a bad start for Juventus, but since then, they've lost against title rivals Inter Milan 1-0 and then followed that up with a 1-0 home loss to relegation threatened Udinese last weekend. They have to restart their push, and do it soon, otherwise Inter Milan will run away with the title, and Juventus could end up dropping 3rd behind AC Milan.
Match PredictionBut that's not something I envisage happening this weekend, because I think this is the weekend where Juventus bounce back. Away from the pressure of a home crowd, I fancy them to go to Verona and take home three points.
