Not only have Juventus lost their place in the title race, but now they've lost 2nd too, heading into the weekend in 3rd, with Bologna behind chasing them down. They host Genoa in the first of five Serie A games on Sunday, and the away team also come here with struggles.
Juventus Form GuideI was really impressed with Juventus at the start of the season, and did expect it to last, though they've disappointed for a few weeks now, their title push is definitely over. The top four was their minimum aim, and they're going to have to get back to winning ways soon, if they want to preserve 3rd, otherwise it could be worse for them.
It's been a dreadful run, Juventus have won just one of their last seven games, and that was a 3-2 narrow success over Frosinone. Last weekend, they drew 2-2 with Atalanta, a much better result, but before that, they lost 2-1 away from home against Napoli.
Genoa Form GuideGenoa have nothing to really play for and to be honest, you can tell that with how they've been going in recent games. They're in 12th with 33 points as we start the weekend, nine above the relegation zone, so I don't expect them to get dragged into all of that.
But in similar fashion to Juventus, they've been poor recently and come here with just one win from their last six games, which was a home success over struggling Udinese. Last weekend, they lost 3-2 at home to Monza and before that, they lost 2-1 away at league leaders Inter Milan.
Match PredictionI think both sides are really struggling at the moment, and in desperate need of a little run. I am going to side with Juventus to win this game, they are the better side, and they are playing better and against better sides, it won't be anything special I don't think, but I do think they'll do enough to win this one.
