We've got some really good games in the Championship this weekend, the first back since the international break. This one could well be the best, with 7th placed West Brom hosting 2nd placed Ipswich. Both sides have been going well recently, both have genuine promotion claims from the positions they are in, and this should be a good match.West Brom Form Guide
I've been really impressed with West Brom in parts this season, they've been excellent. I had them down as a team who would just miss out on the playoffs, right now they are in 7th, outside only on goal difference, so are pushing hard to get inside.
They do come here on the back of a defeat in their last game, a 2-1 loss away at Southampton, who are playing very well at the moment, so they didn't lose much there. Before that, they recorded three wins in a row, beating Hull 3-1, Coventry 2-0 and QPR 2-0, the latter two of those, teams who are struggling for form at the moment.Ipswich Form Guide
Start of season expectations on Ipswich are well and truly out of the window now. I expected them to go well, but didn't predict the kind of start we've seen. 16 games in, they're second in the league, tied with Leicester at the top on 39 points. They are eight clear of Leeds in third, and have genuine automatic promotion aspirations.
Losing just one all season, which came at home to Leeds, they're here on the back of a win in their last game, beating Swansea 3-2 at home. They did draw two away from home before that, both 2-2 at Rotherham and Birmingham, disappointing results and had they won just one of those, we would be talking about Ipswich as the league leaders.Match Prediction
This is going to be close, we've got two good sides going head to head here, in a game I am looking forward to watching. Re-focused, I am going to side with Ipswich to get the narrow win, and three points in their continued automatic promotion push.
