The round of 16 continues this week as Porto prepare to battle Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League.

Porto are ever-present members of the last 16 club in the Champions League from year to year, and for good reason. They’ve got a balanced squad, a passionate fanbase and a lot of experience in this department. With that being said, they’ll believe this is a tie they should be winning, with extra motivation stemming from their frustrations in the Primeira Liga title race.

Following on from consecutive wins over Sporting Lisbon and Rio Ave, the 1-0 loss to Inter Milan in the first leg seemed to rock Porto as they proceeded to drop a 2-1 defeat at home to Gil Vicente. Since then, though, they’ve bounced back with wins over GD Chaves and Estoril.

The rebuilding project at Inter Milan has been a sight to behold for their fanbase ever since theyC got back to winning ways by capturing the Serie A crown a few years back. Still, it’s hard not to focus on the 18-point deficit in the current title race with Napoli, with many of their supporters believing the Champions League should be seen as a big priority of theirs moving forward.

After a 0-0 draw with Sampdoria, Inter picked up back to back wins over Udinese and Porto in the first leg. Unfortunately, they’ve since dropped surprising defeats to Bologna and Spezia, with a 2-0 win over Lecce thrown in there for good measure at the start of March.

Otavio’s suspension means he will join Evanilson, Veron and Galeno in missing this game, all of whom are injured.

Correa is confirmed to be out of action here through injury with question marks surrounding the match fitness of Skriniar.

We expect Porto to take their time in feeling Inter out here, likely leaving them susceptible to some nice counter attacks from the Italians. After both sides get themselves on the scoresheet, we anticipate a surge from the hosts before a draw ends up sending Inter through.
