Georgia vs Greece Prediction (26.03.2024)

We’re into the final furlong as we get ready for the last push towards UEFA Euro 2024. This week, there are three playoff final games that will determine the final entrants into the tournament. These nations have come so far and now, they are within touching distance of what they’ve fought so hard to claim. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the clash between Georgia and Greece.

They haven’t always been known for their football prowess. With that being said, Georgia have been making some real progress across the last few years. They are no longer viewed as a nation that can be walked over and at one point, qualification for Euro 2020 seemed incredibly plausible. Now, it’s all about taking that positive energy into arguably their biggest game ever.

Georgia needed a slice of VAR fortune to get past Luxembourg last week but regardless of which way you look at it, they were able to progress from their semi-final with a solid 2-0 win, and that’ll give them some real confidence here.

Everyone remembers Greece for their famous triumph back at Euro 2004 and now, 20 years later, they seem ready and prepared to try and make another run to the big time. We don’t mean actually winning it, of course, because that would be an even bigger miracle than it was two decades ago, but qualifying is going to be a big target given that they haven’t managed it in their last two attempts.

Greece were probably expecting Kazakhstan to put up a bit more of a fight than they actually did in their semi-final last week. It was a one-sided affair from beginning to end, with Greece picking up a dominant 5-0 win to progress.

Georgia know how big this opportunity is for them, but they’ll also know they can’t afford to take the Greeks for granted. We expect this to be a really entertaining collision with both teams opening up in the final third, leading us down the path of over 2.5 goals scored.
