Spain vs Georgia Prediction (30.06.2024)

We’ve arrived at the knockout stage of UEFA Euro 2024 as sixteen nations battle it out to be crowned the kings of Europe. There are plenty of fascinating ties to dissect in the days that lie ahead, and we’re interested to see which teams show up and which teams fade away. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming encounter between Spain and Georgia.

Spain feel like the real in-form team in the tournament right now and the scary part is that it doesn’t feel like we’ve even seen them in their final form yet. Of course, we know that they’re going to be featured in a really tough side of the draw which isn’t ideal, but they have the quality necessary to overcome just about anyone in the Euros and they should believe in that.

Spain kickstarted their campaign with a dominant 3-0 win over Croatia to really let the world know what they’re all about. From there, they were able to dominate and defeat Italy 1-0, before going on to edge past Albania 1-0 - becoming the only team to finish the group stage with nine points.

Georgia have stunned the masses by making it to the round of 16 and that much is an understatement. They have been a real joy to watch up to this point in the tournament and while many won’t be backing them to go one step further, they have the ‘ultimate underdog’ feeling about them right now - and you just never know how far that could take a nation.

Georgia showed a great deal of spirit in their opening game but still ultimately fell to a disappointing 3-1 defeat at the hands of Turkey. From there, they drew 1-1 with Czech Republic in a really tight and entertaining game, before shocking everyone with a massive 2-0 win over Portugal.

The Georgians are going to push the Spaniards all the way here but the real aim will be to keep them at bay in the early stages of the game. Alas, even if they do that, we don’t think they’ll be able to hold out long term - which is why we’re going to predict a Spain victory.
