The Premier League is back with a full set of weekend fixtures as we return to regularly scheduled programming to begin the month of February. There are so many things up in the air at both ends of the table but hopefully, in the weeks ahead, we’ll start to get a bit more clarity. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be a fun clash between Everton and Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton Form GuideEverton fans have already had to deal with a ten-point deduction this season, and the expectation is that it could get even worse in the weeks and months ahead. Alas, for Sean Dyche, all he can focus on is what’s happening on the pitch. The Toffees certainly have the quality necessary to do some damage, but consistency is going to be key.
In terms of the possession game, Everton were outplayed against Fulham - but when it comes to VAR decisions, they can consider themselves quite unlucky. In the end, though, despite firing 21 shots towards the hosts’ goal, the blue half of Merseyside only came away with a 0-0 draw.
Tottenham Form GuideThere’s no denying the impact Big Ange has been able to have on Tottenham Hotspur Football Club since becoming manager. Alas, while their style of football has improved dramatically, there’s still a lot of uncertainty in the air when it comes to sustaining that forward pressure. They have a solid squad at their disposal, but perhaps they could do with a few new faces to provide some reassurance (and depth).
After going 1-0 down early on against Brentford, some Spurs fans were sweating. Alas, they shouldn’t have worried, as they turned things around with three quickfire goals before fending off a late Bees surge to win the game 3-2 last night.
Match PredictionBetween the unpredictability of Everton and the chaotic playing style of Tottenham, we’re expecting some real fireworks in this game. They both have some big impact players and with a lively crowd at Goodison, we expect to see over 2.5 goals scored here.
