We've got a big game in the Championship on Saturday as Luton, inside the playoffs, host Watford, who are on the outside of the playoffs, trying to get in.
Luton Form GuideComing into the weekend, Luton are in 4th place of the Championship with 64 points. That puts them seven clear of the chasing pack, so certainly have things in their own hands, with just eight games to go in the season. They're unbeaten in their last six games, and in their last 12, the only team to beat them has been league leaders Burnley.
Before the international break, Luton continued pushing towards the playoffs with a good away point at Sunderland. Before that, we saw them grind out some very important wins, beating Sheffield United, Swansea and Bristol City, all by a score of 1-0, showing they can keep things tight, and somehow get a goal to win it.
Watford Form GuideWatford were one of the favourites for promotion this season, but they've not really lived up to that billing yet. Chris Wilder is in to try and turn things around last, but they come into this weekend five points outside of the playoffs, and have three teams between them and the playoffs, so there is a lot of work to be done.
In their final game before the international break, Watford struggled at home and were held by lowly Wigan. Before that, it was a good win over Birmingham, but away from home, they've lost their last two games, away at QPR and Sheffield United. Eight games remain, things need to be a lot better if this team is to legitimately challenge for the Premier League.
