The Premier League returns this weekend following the international break as we continue with the run-in toward the end of the campaign. There’s still plenty left to fight for at both ends of the table, and it feels like we’re going to get a few more answers over the course of the next few days. Today, we’ll be taking a look at what should be an intriguing clash between Nottingham Forest and Crystal Palace.
Nottingham Forest Form GuideWith their points deduction now confirmed, Nottingham Forest need to focus their attention on survival. Nuno Espirito Santo certainly has plenty of reasons to feel confident given the squad he has at his disposal, but at this point in the campaign, there are so many uncertainties in the air. Hopefully for their sake, they’re able to put up a real fight between now and the end of May.
Following a 2-0 win over West Ham, Forest slumped to four straight losses courtesy of Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Brighton. From there, they went on the road to battle Luton, picking up a 1-1 draw in a super competitive affair.
Crystal Palace Form GuideA change in management can often inspire a turnaround on the pitch and while Roy Hodgson’s presence wasn’t the only ongoing issue at the club, his exit will certainly give fans cause for hope and optimism. Now, with Oliver Glasner at the helm, there could be an exciting new direction for this famous club - and hopefully for them, far less of a worry regarding the threat of relegation.
Palace picked up a point on the road against Everton and then just a few days later, they battered Burnley 3-0 in a really emphatic display. They proceeded to drop points in a 3-1 defeat to Tottenham, before only managing a 1-1 draw at home to Luton.
Match PredictionForest and Palace are fairly evenly matched in terms of overall quality and we think that’s going to be on full display when they collide this weekend. It’s going to be tense, it’s going to be nervy, and hopefully, it’s going to be quite open. In terms of a prediction, we’re going to shoot for a draw.
