The Premier League returns once again this weekend as we continue to march through the first month of the new campaign. There’s still a whole lot we have to learn about all 20 teams involved in this season’s top flight, and on Saturday, we’ll find out more about Bournemouth and Tottenham Hotspur as they clash at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea Form GuideChelsea Football Club went through the definition of turmoil last season. The Blues simply were not at the races for most of the campaign, and it showed both on and off the pitch. Now, they’ve had the summer to regroup and take a look at where things went wrong, with the hope being that Mauricio Pochettino is the saviour they’ve been clamouring for over the last few years.
The Blues kickstarted their new era with a 1-1 draw against Liverpool, before suffering a big setback in a 3-1 loss to West Ham. Since then, though, they’ve put together back-to-back wins, battering Luton 3-0 before coming from behind to avoid a scare against Wimbledon in the cup.
Nottingham Forest Form GuideNottingham Forest defied the expectations of many last season and were able to maintain their place in the top flight of English football. They made a parade of transfers in order to do so and somehow, their risk paid off. The dreaded second season syndrome is something they’ll obviously be concerned about but for now, their fans will want to focus on enjoying the ride.
Forest pushed Arsenal all the way in their opener, but ultimately fell short in a 2-1 defeat. They did manage to beat Sheffield United in their next game before two more losses came their way - 3-2 against Manchester United and 1-0 against Burnley in the League Cup.
Match PredictionForest are a fun team to watch and that’ll likely continue to be the case for the remainder of the season. The hosts, meanwhile, still have a few things to prove to those who have been doubting them, and at home is the best place to do it. Therefore, we’re going to back a Chelsea win.
