The festive period continues as we approach the final few days of 2023. The Premier League has never been more exciting as all 20 clubs prepare for a big push into the new year. There are plenty of fixtures to work through this week and today, we’re going to take a look at what should be a pretty interesting clash between Luton Town and Chelsea.
Luton Form GuideLuton Town are in the Premier League and that still feels somewhat strange to say. The Hatters have scratched and clawed to get back to the top after being in the National League not so long ago. As we know, though, the overwhelming expectation is that they’ll head straight back down, which is why they’ll probably be feeling as if they don’t really have much to lose between now and May.
Following on from a big win over Crystal Palace, Luton fought hard but lost to Brentford, Arsenal and Manchester City. Since then, though, they’ve bounced back with two massive performances - and two massive wins over Newcastle and Sheffield United.
Chelsea Form GuideWell, it’s official: Chelsea are in turmoil once again. Mauricio Pochettino was seen as the man who could help turn things around and while that may still be true, their inconsistency speaks for itself. They have the quality necessary to cause teams problems across the pitch but they lack any kind of real cohesion, and it’ll be fascinating to see how they deal with the mounting pressure.
After Chelsea lost to Manchester United and Everton, they bounced back with a 2-0 win over Sheffield United. They proceeded to edge past Newcastle on penalties in the League Cup, lose 2-1 to Wolves, and beat Crystal Palace 2-1 as their inconsistency continues.
Match PredictionChelsea aren’t playing well right now whereas Luton have given all of the big boys a problem when they’ve made their way to Kenilworth Road. We think this is going to be a really competitive game and when it comes to a prediction, we’re going to say it’ll end in a draw.
