Cardiff appear to have turned over a new leaf, and have really impressed in recent weeks, looking like a side on the up. They host Rotherham at the weekend, a team with just one win so far, and a game that Cardiff will see as an excellent opportunity to extend their current run of form, and continue their rise up the table.
Cardiff City Form GuideI will be honest and say that I expected to see Cardiff in the relegation fight this season, so seeing them just outside of the playoffs after eight games is certainly a surprise, but that's exactly where they deserve to be. They've turned a corner dramatically, with four wins and one defeat in their last five games, and while it may have started fortunately, they're making it pay now.
Their first win of the season came at home to Sheffield Wednesday, with a controversial late penalty given them the three points. They lost after that against Ipswich, but put up a good fight, since then it's been three wins from three games. A big derby win over Swansea kicked that off before a home win over Coventry and a great 1-0 success away from home over Sunderland last weekend.
Rotherham Form GuideDown in the relegation zone, one place off the foot of the table, Rotherham have played well against good opposition, but let themselves down in games they could have won. They have won one of eight, with two draws and five defeats, with their only win of the season coming 2-1 at home to Norwich.
They picked up a draw last weekend, taking a point from a home game against Preston, a side who were top of the league at that point, which further emphasises the point of them playing well against the top sides, but struggling when playing others who are struggling.
Match PredictionI am siding with Cardiff to win this game, I think they come here in great form, doing better than expected, and with that in mind, I will take them to beat a struggling Rotherham side here and claim another three points.
