We’re in the endgame now, ladies and gentlemen. The Premier League season is entering the final furlong with just a handful of games remaining for clubs up and down English football’s top tier. Whether it be the title race, the relegation battle or anything in between, there’s still a lot left to be determined. Today, we’ll be taking a look at the upcoming clash between Burnley and Newcastle United.

Burnley’s only defeat in their last six was a 1-0 loss to Everton, but they still need to work on killing games off and turning one point into three. They’ve drawn with Chelsea, Wolves, Brighton and Manchester United, alongside a 4-1 win on the road against Sheffield United.
Newcastle Form GuideNewcastle United went through a really rocky period a few months back and at this point, their sole focus needs to be on securing European football for next season. There are bound to be questions surrounding Eddie Howe’s future once we arrive at the summer transfer window but in the next few games, the Magpies know that they have a whole lot of work to do.
Aside from a strange 2-0 loss to Crystal Palace and a 1-1 draw at home to Everton, Newcastle have been really solid lately. They’ve managed to secure nice victories over West Ham, Fulham, Tottenham and Sheffield United, scoring 14 goals across those four encounters.
Match PredictionBurnley know that they need to start turning draws into wins, but they can’t afford to be reckless. Newcastle are more than capable of hitting them on the counter if the hosts give them even a sniff at goal, and for that reason, we expect a conservative approach - which has led us to our prediction of under 2.5 goals scored.
